Lines + Stars began in 2006 as a means of establishing a new creative forum in Washington, DC, a city that all-too-often coasts solely on its more mechanistic pursuits. While many of our contributors hail from the DC area, we've also expanded our writer-base to include national and international voices.

Lines + Stars welcomes poetry of all type. In general, we commend the experimental and eschew the inane. If you have some background in the literary realm—perhaps can tell the difference between a spondee and a trochee—that's wonderful, but it's not necessary. Novice and seasoned writers are welcome here; it is the quality and strength of the work that ultimately determines its inclusion in our journal.

At present, we unfortunately cannot offer payment for publication of your work.
